Our Creative Kids Dance Classes at Creative Steps Dance Studio are designed to foster and grow a child's love for dance, music and movement. Dance can be a fun and exciting activity for children. But what a child learns in a dance class is so much MORE THAN just the STEPS we teach them! With every lesson, they are also working on improving their balance, coordination, memorization, and confidence, and they are learning how to work well with other children in a team setting. These are all important components in every single class as well as important skills for every developing child. BALLET/JAZZ/TAP COMBO
(Age 6 - 9)
A combo class that gives your child many different ways to move! Learning Ballet, Jazz and Tap dance skills in this class all while improving our musicality, memory, balance and coordination. We spend just enough time on each subject to keep their interest and keep their bodies moving. Adding in creative dance games allows the dancers time for self expression, a skill that is important to develop at this age. Ballet will teach the dancers poise, grace, and proper body alignment. The class then changes pace to learn the upbeat and fast moving style of Jazz dance. Finishing off our class we put on our tap shoes and work on rhythmic patterns with our feet.

HIPPITY HOP + HIP HOP

This engaging, high energy, and FUN class will really get your kiddos moving! We teach the fundamentals of hip hop in an age appropriate manor. Using our strong bodies we will also learn some breakdance moves. We also make sure to end every class with a free movement game to allow the dancers a chance to work on their self expression.

LYRICAL

The style of Lyrical is a combination of Ballet and Jazz fused together. It is a graceful, yet powerful form of dance. The word Lyrical means expression. Students will express themselves and tell a story through their movement.

CONTEMPORARY
(Age 8 - 13)
Contemporary Dance Classes are one of our most popular styles of dance. These classes pull from all styles of dance. There is a lot of foundational modern dance, floor work, rounding of the upper body, and most importantly emotion. Each class will begin with a full body warm up. Students will then string along movements into patterns traveling across the dance floor working on their leaps, jumps and turns. Ending class with a dance routine where the students will be asked to emote feelings through their movements.

MUSICAL THEATRE
(Age 9 - 13)
Musical Theatre Dance incorporates Jazz dance alongside music from the Broadway Stage. Students will start with a high energy warm up. Next dancers will engage in acting games in which they have to portray a character or a scene using dance movements. Finishing off class with a high energy dance routine set to Showtunes. This class is great for any students who are interested in participating in their school musicals and plays.

A combo class that will teach the dancers elements of Jazz and Lyrical Dance. Jazz dance is a fast paced, high energy style of dance, while Lyrical dance is graceful and expressive. With Jazz dance being the foundation and birth place of Lyrical dance this combo class is the perfect pairing.
