What Is The Excel Dance Program?
The Excel Dance Program was designed as a way to separate intermediate and advanced dancers from beginner dancers. This is very beneficial to all levels!
Beginners have their own classes to focus on learning dance technique without feeling the pressure to be perfect. While Intermediate and Advanced dancers can have their own classes to learn at a faster pace, refine their technique and not have to review material year to year.
Who Can Join An Excel Dance Class?
All Dancers ages 9 and up, with previous dance experience in that particular style, may join an Excel Dance Class.
What Are The Different Level Numbers Of Each Class?
Each Excel Dance Class is labeled with a number. For Example you will see: Excel 3, Excel 4, etc.

These numbers are to signify groups of dancers. It is not a level system where you move up from 1, to 2, to 3 each year.

Dance Instructors will place the dancers into these numbered classes based on who we think they will dance well with and if they are all on the same page technique wise. Once your child is leveled into a class they will dance with those same kids year after year and will usually remain the same number label for several years in a row.

This does not mean they are not progressing! By keeping groups of kids together in the same classes we as teachers know what material they have mastered and are able to move them onto new material each season. Your child will always be growing an learning.

Keeping kids in groups also allows us to make sure they are dancing with the same aged peers and that an older dancer is not in a class with much younger children.

Moving students to a new Excel Number usually happens when our Senior Dancers graduate and we need to then fill in the higher number classes so that we are always reaching capacity.
How Do I Sign Up For An Excel Dance Class
If you are interested in joining an Excel Dance Class please email our office, give us a call, or speak to someone in person at the dance studio.

All dancers who are new to an Excel Dance class must be evaluated so that we can fit them into the right group based on age and skill set.

We can set up an evaluation in your regular weekly dance lesson, or we can set up a time that works for you.
